Cheddar Waffles

Just regular waffles? Come on, we could do better!



Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt

  • 3 tbsp vegan liquid egg substitute

  • 1½ cups non-dairy milk

  • 1 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 6 tbsp vegan butter – melted and cooled

  • 1½ cups Nafsika’s Garden cheddar cheese – grated

  • 4 tbsp Nafsika’s Garden parmesan cheese – grated


Method

  1. Mix the non dairy milk with the apple cider vinegar, allow it to sit for 10 minutes

  2. Mix in a bowl all the dry ingredients together, once the milk mixture has become slightly thicker, add it to the dry ingredients, mix well, add the vegan egg substitute and 4 of the tbsp of melted butter. Mix well.

  3. Heat up your waffle iron and brush it with the melted vegan butter, once it’s hot, place ½ of the mixture into each side (or more if you have a bitter waffle iron) and cook for about 5 – 7 minutes or until golden brown.

  4. Serve hot!
